The Deep Well Target lies in the northwestern part of ICENI's tenure. The area has extensive transported cover. The bedrock geology is dominated by a large NE-SW tending ellipsoidal granitic intrusion.
The granite is surrounded by the metasedimentary sequences of the Minerie Formation, which forms a northeast trending trough. Thin bands of greenstone occur on the eastern contact of the granite.
